On Bell3 commissions

Dear Bell Ringers,

as explored in other blog posts, Bell3 appointed Stripe as payment gateway, to provide its users with safe, transparent and trustworthy transactions.

The service model Bell3 utilizes is Connect Standard with Separate Charges and Transfer.

Here's an example on how does it work:

Stripe charges for Bell3
Example of Bell3 charges on a 100€ donation

where:

Customer is the supporter user (backer) who makes a donation to the recipient user;

Platform is Bell3;

Connected Account is the user who receive the donation.

All the Stripe charges are absorbed in the Bell3 charges. Stripe charges differently based on the payment method, the location of the supporter (Customer), the location of the recipient (Connected Account), and the eventual currency exchange. Altogether can make up to 5% + 0.25€ .

In total, Bell3 charge is

10% + 0.25€

or

10% + 0.27$

or

10% +0.21£...

for every donation and it can be broken-down as follow:

Total Charges = Stripe charges + Bell3 charges = 10% +0.25€

Stripe charges = payment method charges + cross-border charges + currency exchange charges + 0.25€

Bell3 Charges = 5% + stripe unclaimed charges

So who bares the charges, the supporter or the recipient?

Based on the scheme above the charges are deducted from the amount donated, thus the recipient will receive a slightly smaller amount than the amount donated by the supporter.

Is 10% + 0.25€ too high of a charge?

Bell3 is working on flatten the charges as we speak.

Our dream is to offer our users a free-of-charges crowdfunding platform to let them earn up to every single coin they deserve.

Mr. Bell
